Hello,

Our database maintenance jobs in Manager are scheduled nightly via Task scheduler and I wanted to create a new Scheduled task to unlock the DB.

We've been having trouble with the Database being left locked whenever the maintenance / Master Data import fails for whatever reason.

I know its a simple task to just open Manager and Unlock the DB, but I was looking into Automating this task so that it will unlock the DB just before the start of the Business Day.

I cant seem to find the answer in Google on what Argument I should use.
Hoping someone here has done the same thing before [confused]

Hello,

I suppose that you should specify the argument /m MyMaintenance. But...

On the one hand, it is better to have INTERPRET and TRANSFER not running during the maintenance.
On the other hand, you need a MANAGER licence available. If somebody has left without closing it, your maintenance will fail.

Therefore, my recommendation is to create a script file :

Maintenance.cmd
net stop "ReadSoft"
net stop "INVOICES Interpret"
net stop "INVOICES Transfer"
net start "ReadSoft"
start c:\...\eimngr.exe /m MyMaintenance
start c:\...\eimngr.exe /m MyMasterData
net start "INVOICES Interpret"
net start "INVOICES Transfer"

Then, the windows scheduler will target this maintenance.cmd

Hope this will hemp

Hi,
We had  a similar problem and turned the lock off when the maintenance job was run.  We did this two years ago and haven't run into any issues.
Then again, we have our maintenance routine scheduled for midnight when Accounts Payable are not processing invoices.
