Hello,

We are upgrading from 5.7 HF2 to 5.7 HF11.
Any feedback on this ? is there any specific points to test due to regression ? or can we do an technical upgrade with no specific support ?

Hi PJ,
Sorry, not sure what HF is? Hot Fix? Is this Support Pack?
If so, I just installed SP12 in test environment today without Readsoft support. 
Just a few points to note:

1.  Back up database server (if virtual server, I would also take a snap shot)
2.  Stop services
3.  Uninstall SP2
4.  Install Support Patch
5.  Open Manager (I ran the DB maintenance routine)
6.  Restart services
7.  Integration test (I am completing this now).  Just plan to push through a few invoices from different sources (scan, email, XML).  Verify a few invoices and push some invoices into our SAP system.  We are upgrading from SP7 to SP12.  Note that 13 is the latest patch, just released a few weeks ago, however to be on the safe side I opted for the version below.

I will let you know if I run into any trouble.

Hi again PJ
I completed integration testing of Patch 12 and on face value it looks good.  I will now hand over to the business for user testing.  I will be on leave until 19 Jan therefore will transfer this into Production towards end of Jan if user testing goes well.

The process to implement the patch was simple.  Just follow the above steps.  Make sure the services are stopped and everyone is out of the system when implementing in Production.

I would also take a note of the invoice count in Manager (its at the top of the table) and in Optmize and check this after patch installation.

Post patch implementation in Test environment I found I only had 29 suppliers (Manager > Administration > List Suppliers).  I should have about 10,000 suppliers!
Not sure if it due to the installation of the Patch or I only had 29 before I started.
Might be a good idea to have a back up copy of your last VMD upload file (if maintain vendor master data) and prior to installation check the number of suppliers you have in the Manager module. 
Post patch implementation, run the VMD maintenance routine (Manager > Administration > Maintenance > VMD).
Problem was fixed by running the VMD maintenance routine.
I plan to add these steps to Production run.

Hello Cheryl,

Thank you for this quick reply I appreciate.
The patch has been presented to me as Hot Fix 11 (HF11) by Readsoft France but I guess this is same as SP (support pack). Major version is 5.7 anywhow.
Thank you for your installation sequence, and your last comments about vendor master data. We did not identify this point so now we will take it.
We are making non regression tests those weeks and so far we did not found any regression.
I would add as input for patch installation that there is no need to process all invoices in queue before installing it nor any regressionon invoice definition. They all work before and after patch installation.
